Case Studies | Elltron Supply Chain Solutions

Listed below are some examples of Elltrons current projects and their associated cost savings.

  • ATM Industry

    We were approached one of the leading ATM manufacturers in the world to design out a 13 Watt fluorescent tube and ballast and to design in an LED solution.

    This solution was for leading Dutch banks who were concerned with the cost to service florescent tubes and ballasts in their ATM advert and Keypad panels, across their ATM network throughout Holland.

    Elltron designed an LED solution, layed out the circuit design, chose the LED component package, and incorporated the ballast onto the PCBA, thereby reducing it from two products (tube and ballast) to one PCBA product.

    Elltron also completed laser testing and regulatory certification for this product (CE & UL).  Elltron extended the life span from 5000 hours (tube & ballast) to 50,000 hours (LED Solution).  Thereby reducing both cost and maintenance to the end user over the life span of the product.

  • Furniture Industry

    Elltron were approached by a leading UK sliding wardrobe manufacturer to design and supply an LED Light Rail to enable their customers to illuminate the interior of their sliding wardrobes by using PIR (Passive infra Red)  and LED.  

    Elltron designed a cuttable (retro-fit market) LED light Rail which is powered by a rechargeable battery.  This design entailed LED DIPs and a PIR sensor so that the light would come on once the wardrobe door is opened and go off once the door is closed.   Thereby saving power and negating the need for an electrician to install given that the rechargeable battery element of the design.

  • Telecoms Industry

    Sourcing and supply of custom STN LCD from China which resulted in the client having a cost saving of US$500,000 per annum.
    Same project as above. PCBA’s sourced and supplied from China which resulted in further cost savings of US$750,000.

  • Sanitary & Washroom Industry

    Electronic design, sourcing and supply of full turn-key product from China: Total cost saving $500,000.

  • Marine Industry

    Sourcing and supply of custom Transformers and Rubber parts from China: Total cost saving on custom transformer $1,000,000 and on rubber $100,000. Also currently looking at full turn-key box build products on behalf of this customer.

  • Solar Power Industry

    Souring and supply from China of Copper tubing, rubber parts, transformers and PCBA's. Cost savings moving forward of $1,500,000 for this customer.

  • Satellite Industry

    Sourcing and Supply of complete turn key products from China. Cost saving to this customer is $600,000.

  • Power Tool Industry

    Complete design and sourcing of a complete product from design to manufacture in China. Potential savings of $2,000,000.
